I once heard this woman opera singer whose voice was so powerful that it shattered a glass nearby. If the human voice can do this imagine what it’s like to have a frequency infinitely more powerful. This frequency exists. It is what I call “God frequency” and within all of us. I’ve been hearing this frequency for a long time now.
Last year when I spent some time on retreat, the frequency increased to a loud ringing until it sounded like someone was playing flutes in my head. I thought I was going mad. At one point I prayed for the ‘noise’ to stop and the more I prayed the louder it got. While it was going on I was also very inspired and was producing tons and tons of writing. I later found out that the frequency was transmuting itself into thoughts which I was writing down. The pitch reached a crescendo then it dissolved all thoughts until I was left with Inner Silence. I was curious to find out about my experience or to connect with someone who had had a similar experience. My answer came in the form of a book by HP Blavatsky called “The Voice of the Silence,” which discusses the process of merging with the Spirit. Apparently the sounds were the different voices of Spirit. What a relief it was to know that I wasn’t cracking up and it was Spirit’s way of communicating with me.
Inner Silence doesn’t mean there is this profound stillness where there are no thoughts and it’s just an empty void. At least that’s not how I experience the Silence. I hear a high pitch sound through my inner hearing. Let me put it another way. There are times when I listen to music with my eyes closed and when I concentrate, I can hear and feel all the different harmonies. There is usually a dominant sound. Imagine all these harmonies dissolving into one sound. This is how Inner Silence sounds to me. I have heard many describe it as OM. I don’t hear it that way; it sounds rather like a shrill, but not one that can be discerned through the physical senses.
Another way the Silence been described which I can really relate to is as follows: “…this light energy vibrates, and just like music, there are fundamentals and harmonics. The harmonics resonate with the fundamental energy vibration and the whole energy packet sings like a choir–except its voice is light.” Wingmakers
You’ve heard the saying: “seeing is believing.” I say, “hearing is believing.” Since I’ve been hearing this frequency and seen how it works, there is no room for doubt. I trust implicitly in Inner Silence. Let me tell you why.
In the scriptures it is written:
“The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted…Be still, and know that I am God.” (The Bible, Psalm 46: 6, 10)
Creations of pain and suffering, mayhem and destruction are symbolic of the heathen raging. The one who “uttered his voice, the earth melted,” is the voice of Silence which is so powerful that it can instantly remove suffering, or create a new reality. The “earth” is any thought form that results in disharmony. In order to reach the Silence it is written that we should be still and know who we are. I will discuss this later.
Inner Silence, for me is the Light within which is the Self of all. Physicists have demonstrated, have they not, that light behaves in a Jekyll and Hyde way: particle and wave? Though Inner Silence is not the same as material light it is still a very good analogy for how I experience Silence. On the one hand, Inner Silence can transmute itself into thoughts for those, like myself, who need answers in a way they can understand. Thoughts are the equivalent of particles. On the other hand, Silence behaves like waves or frequencies which is an all-knowing and all-pervasive Energy. This Energy is frequently referred to as Unconditional Love.
I’ve had instant healing by simply listening to the Silence and feeling it penetrate my very core. I have witnessed how simply listening to this frequency can transform an atmosphere in a room where people’s attitudes are instantly transformed from fear to love. In my view, it’s way too much effort to bless others or to think nice thoughts to create a loving environment. I simply stay tuned to Inner Silence and the vibration does the work necessary.
The other day I went for another one of my long walks. I was feeling really connected to all and feeling the frequency all around me. Animals are very much aware of this Love vibration. A little Scot Terrier dog headed in my direction. I stroked and played with him for a while, then said goodbye. A few minutes later I came across another dog. Again he wanted to say hello but he kept looking back at his guardian as if seeking approval. I petted him for a while telling him how gorgeous he was. His guardian was amazed. He said many people were scared of him. “How can anyone be scared of this adorable animal?” I said, patting his head.
I walked away but the dog trotted behind me. His guardian caught up with me and we walked and chatted for about half an hour. He remarked how easy I was to talk to and was impressed that as a lone female I had not been scared to play with his dog or speak to him. On our walk, we came across another man walking his dog. My new friend’s dog went over and both dogs rubbed noses and walked away. Again my walking friend was very puzzled by his dog’s behaviour. He said that whenever his dog meets another dog he would usually sniff at it, growl and get into a fight. For some reason his dog was in very high spirits. I knew it was the Love vibration around us which was transmuting everything in its path. There is no disharmony where there is Love.
Since there is only the One Mind in all, I also find that if anyone is in my thoughts, he or she gets the benefit of this energy. This is how spiritual healing works when the One Mind melts away all that is not its image and likeness.
Although Inner Silence manifests as thoughts and ideas, It is only doing so for my benefit. Besides, there is no guarantee that my interpretation is 100% accurate since I’m always trying to filter the energy through language and world view. To have access to pure wisdom, one has to listen to the Silence without judgment and allow the Silence to manifest the answers without question. You see, Inner Silence does not need to be interpreted through the physical senses or through thoughts. He can manifest the right situation and solutions instantly. I can’t say I’m at that point yet where I’ve stopped thinking or asking questions, but I can say that listening to the Silence is becoming like second nature.
One can spend years and many lifetimes writing about Inner Silence but words are inadequate. All I can say from experience is when you trust in Inner Silence, She reminds you of all that you are; gives you the right answers; removes obstacles; even manifests solutions instantly. I love the way Isaiah puts it:
“I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.” (Isaiah 45: 2-3)
How does one access Inner Silence? By practising meditation. I have never been one for following a discipline, I just did it. Saying that, I have also tried group meditation and tried to study a technique but they didn’t work for me; I’m too much of a free Spirit. Whether you use techniques or not, meditation is an excellent tool to help still those thoughts so you can access what is your true nature, Self. Once you’ve discovered your true Self i.e. realised that Self was always right where you are, you can take or leave meditation. While I meditate from time to time, I no longer have to meditate daily, not that I ever did.
All that matters to me is constantly hearing the powerful “Voice of the Silence.” And where there is Inner Silence, as Don Juan puts it:
“It is the moment when man the slave, becomes man the free being, capable of feats of perception that defy our linear imagination.” (The Active Side of Infinity, by Carlos Castaneda, p. 104).
Amen to that!
I am Inner Silence
