Driven by a desire to know I have done what I am capable of to make the world livable for my children, I choose to work on issues of community, neighborhoods, diversity, and immigration. It is a spirit lead process. Over the years I have grown from believing that if one just faces life with an open heart and a firm faith in life she will get what she needs. After many knocks on the head to educate me toward the need for science and the arts -- intelectuals -- in life, I have regained a more stable center in my life generally and in my work.

The artist brings metaphore, and with metaphore, a deeper communication about the inexpressable...that in life for which there is no vocabulary. the artists: poet, sculpter, essayist-- build connection in a world where violence, poverty and greed can lead the most saintly of souls to question the nature of life/existance. The artist, and artistic expression, make life livable. They provide answers by speaking from The Mystery.

The scientist provides a path in the maze. There are those who have come before, who have asked questions, found answers, and made mistakes. The scientist can take this jumble of history and information and turn it into a map. Ask more questions, find more answers, and make more mistakes. We all must view the map from our own experience and knowledge. We must interpret the key, and we must know where we want to go. We must know if we want the superhighway or the rambling country road. (Enough of THAT metaphore)

Spiritual expression in the world needs art and science for authentic expression. Art and/or science expressed from spiritual direction is an immeasurable gift to the planet.
