As long as I’m somehow taking illusions for reality, I’m in need of healing. Healing means restoring the mind to its wholeness. Wholeness is the only reality and healing is the inevitable result of accepting the reality of love, innocence and peace for myself. Love is what I am and no one but me has closed my mind to that reality.

Because I’m still caught up in this physical universe dream, healing also seems to involve the body. However, only what already belongs to reality can be restored to it. The ego, the body, this unsafe world... how could any of these illusions be restored to reality in any other way than by disappearing from consciousness altogether? It’s their only way to be true to their nature of nonexistence. Therefore, never mind the body when the need for healing is felt. There is, however, no harm in accepting a cure for a bodily condition as long as my mind is still not sure about its reality. I just mustn’t confuse a physical cure with irreversible healing.

The body may or may not be seen as a reflection of what the mind takes for real but the body cannot change my mind. What can change my mind is the reality of “another” mind. Even when a mind is seriously disturbed it still has not lost the power to expand its reality of love.

No one can be healed against his will. In order for healing to happen I have to recognize, if only for a split second, that I need it. Furthermore I can speed up healing enormously by accepting that it cannot come about on my own terms. My own terms are precisely the limitations that have caused my sickness, because I cannot limit my boundless reality without experiencing pain as a result of it. Separation is the basic concept of all limited thinking and fear is its inevitable result. Therefore, separation cannot be my basis for healing. All forms of healing have their source in what they aim at - wholeness, love and peaceful innocence. That’s why you cannot heal only me, nor I only you, because that would mean that the illusion of separation is kept intact and that at least one of us is still unforgiven, to wit the healer himself. Wholeness is not whole without any of us. So, healing is a shared experience.

In order to heal and be healed myself I need to be willing to see you as a mirror of my own innocence and I need to take your helping hand offered by your presence in my life to be able to accept forgiveness for myself.

Healing experiences are guiding my disturbed mind, completely led astray by its own concepts, back to eternal wholeness and truth unlimited. Only when I do not allow any exception to my unconditional love can I truly say that in the experiences I create “death shall have no dominion.”
