Religion is something I have struggled with my entire life. I have been pressured and persuaded to join many religions and sects looking to increase their numbers and propogate their beleifs. There's sermons, old books, singing and dancing. Religion is one mans beleifs being widely accepted as truth and fact. One mans beleifs are fine for one man, but I don't beleive that spirituality can be put on a production line and mass produced to the public to be accepted as their own. Religion has taken an individuals right and duty to find themselves and their spirituality and put it into the express lane, pre-packaged. How can someone know spirituality if they didn't find it themselves? It is finding your own spirituality, and your self, that makes it so wonderful. It's like a cheat sheet to an exam. You didn't do the homework but you want a good grade. The thing is, you can get a good grade but what did you learn? Spirituality for one, Religion for all? |
