Assumptions and Expectations limit the desirable outcomes that can come from a situation. We bring into each experience pre-conceived notions and outcomes. The human brain is not going to allow a situation to occur freely when there is an outcome that is more preferable than another, thus limiting a moments potential. We will actively change the situation to suit our expectations. Since the experience and the moment have been channeled down a certain path, it is no longer “free” to do as it pleases. It is no longer afforded the possibilities that the field of pure potentiality would extend it. Instead of being adrift on the river of life, we are paddling. So, my question is: In order to be truly be, do we need to shed assumptions and expectations? Should we be choosing our path or letting our path choose us?
