I think that emotion motivates us to act with care; and caring actions are the way love is perceived.

Emotion that has become devotion leads us to act for the highest good of a situation for all concerned.

I think love is made manifest most vibrantly when we act for another as we would act for ourselves or as we would wish to be treated.
